1) Innovative Hardware for High Performance
Huawei's innovative hardware implements E2E storage system acceleration. The NoF+ Solution uses intelligent lossless Ethernet to build a high-performance storage network with zero packet loss even at full bandwidth scenarios, improving performance by 42% compared to traditional FC. The controller enclosure integrates 5 types of intelligent hardware to accelerate key data transmission paths and build high-performance storage computing power. Global wear leveling uses Huawei RAID 2.0+ to evenly distribute data across all SSDs based on fingerprints and balance the wear degree. When multiple SSDs are close to the wear limit, the global anti-wear leveling technology selects an SSD and increases its service volume to prevent collective failures and enhance reliability.
2) Cross-enclosure RAID tolerating failure at the disk enclosure level
The cross-enclosure RAID tolerates the failure of a single disk enclosure without disrupting services. RAID-TP can lose one enclosure and tolerate the failure of one more SSD without disrupting services. This is in contrast to the typical industry-wide tolerance of only one disk enclosure.
3) Innovative Palm-sized disks and high-density disk enclosures
Compared to the traditional 25-disk slot enclosure, the innovative 36-slot high-density enclosure increases the disk quantity by 44% per unit space. The patented horizontal backplane design reduces interference between the back-end disk connectors and mainboard connectors and improves heat dissipation by 25%.
