RGS Nordics A/S is a Copenhagen-based environmental consulting and waste management firm. They recently faced a potentially daunting IT challenge; to establish their own IT organisation and back-office infrastructure outside of the former group IT function. The forward-thinking new IT group took the clean-sheet opportunity to build a new, highly flexible yet powerful IT platform from the ground up, that would serve them for years to come. What exactly is novel about the process?
RGS Nordics from the outset wanted to create a new model to deploy the best hardware across the estate backed by excellent service and support. They deployed a new CIO, Lars Peter Lundstrøm to oversee the process and he wasn’t afraid to break from former convention. Still, the company decided to put each competing solution through a careful evaluation before selecting the ultimate winner.

How does the process break conventional fields in this area?
