Categories

The 2018 DCS Awards feature 26 categories across five groups. The Project awards are open to end use implementations of Datacentre technologies and services before 31st December 2017. The Product awards are open to products and solutions that have been available, i.e. shipping in Europe, before 31st December 2017 while the Company and Special awards nominees must have been present in the EMEA market prior to 1st June 2017.



DCS Project Awards

All entries must demonstrate tangible benefits either in terms of cost savings or efficiency gains for the end-user concerned. Projects should have been implemented before 31st December 2017 in EMEA.

Project categories entry criteria: Please answer these questions in the general description of your nominations in these categories:

  • What was the driving force behind the project ‐ what business or technology challenge needed to be addressed?
  • How did the solution address the challenges and were there any particularly innovative aspects that made it stand out?
  • What major challenges were faced during the project and how were they overcome?
  • What tangible benefits has the organisation seen as a result of the project's implementation?

Open to any data centre project that resulted in significant benefits to the end-user organisation with regard to the energy efficiency of the facilities concerned.

Open to any project involving the design and build of a new data centre anywhere in EMEA.

Open to any project where an organisation’s new automation solution and/or DCIM project has resulted in increased productivity and or control of their data centre environment.

Open to any project involving the consolidation of several data centres or a notable refresh/upgrade project resulting in significant benefits to the end-user organisation concerned.

Open to any project where the implementation of a set of Hybrid Cloud services has significantly changed the delivery and effectiveness of IT services for the end-user organisation concerned.

 

DCS Product Awards

All products/solutions entered must have been shipping in EMEA before 31st December 2017.

Entry Criteria: Please answer these questions in the general description of your nomination:

  • What are your product's/solution's key distinguishing features and/or USP?
  • What tangible impact has your product/solution had on the market and your customers?
  • What are the major differentiators between your product/solution and those of your primary competitors?
  • Please supply any supportive quotes and/or case study materials to demonstrate the value of this product/solution to your customers/partners.

Open to any products that are designed to deliver efficient and cost-effective power solutions to end users and/or data centre operators.

Open to any products that are designed to deliver efficient power distribution management solutions to end users and/or data centre operators.

Open to any products that are designed to deliver efficient and cost-effective data centre and or infrastructure cooling solutions to end users and/or data centre operators.

Open to any products that are designed to deliver comprehensive automation or Data Centre Management (DCIM) solutions (i.e. the building and its total contents) to end users and/or data centre operators.

Open to any Physical Security and/or Fire/Safety solutions in the data centre environment for end users and/or data centre operators.

Open to any products that deliver effective cabling infrastructure and management in the data centre environment including cabinets and racking solutions for end users and/or data centre operators.

Open to any datacentre or cloud-based IT storage hardware and/or software products that deliver specific data centre focussed storage solutions to end-users.

Open to any security products, hardware and/or software based, that deliver specific data centre focussed security solutions to organisations.

Open to any IT systems-level management solution aimed at effective management of heterogeneous data centre IT environments.

Open to any networking and/or communications platform, appliance or system that provide local, wide area or remote access data centre connectivity.

 

DCS Company Awards

entrants must have been present in the EMEA markets prior to 1st June 2017.

Entry Criteria: Please answer these questions in the general description of your nomination:

  • What are your company’s key distinguishing features and/or USP?
  • What tangible impact has your company had on the market and your customers?
  • What levels of customer service differentiate you from your competitors
  • What are the major differentiators between your company and your primary competitors?
  • Please supply any supportive quotes and/or case study materials to demonstrate the position of your company in the market.

Open to any organisation delivering data centre hosting and colocation services to end users or data centre operators in the EMEA region.

Open to any commercial organisation selling and/or supporting DC Cloud products and/or services in the EMEA market.

Open to any commercial organisation manufacturing, selling and/or supporting DC Facilities solutions in the EMEA market.

Open to any commercial organisation manufacturing, selling and/or supporting DC ICT system solutions in the EMEA market.

Open to any IT vendor or reseller/business partner delivering end-user customer service in the UK or EMEA data centre markets. Entries must be accompanied by a minimum of THREE customer testimonials (in English) attesting to the high level of customer service delivered that sets the entrant apart from their competition.

 

DCS Innovation Awards

Open to products, technologies, sales programs or projects introduced to the EMEA market between 1st January and the 31st December 2017..

Open to any company that has introduced an innovative and/or unique data centre automation service, product, technology, sales program, or project.

Open to any company that has introduced an innovative and/or unique data centre IT digitalisation service, product, technology, sales program, or project.

Open to any company that has introduced an innovative and/or unique hybrid data centre service, product, technology, sales program, or project.

Open to any organisation that has introduced an innovative and/or unique open source data centre focussed service, product, technology, sales program, or project.

 

DCS Individual Awards

Open to individuals employed in the EMEA region prior to 31st December 2017.

Open to any individual responsible for the management of a single or multiple data centres in the EMA region – individuals may be employed by an end-user, a hosting / colo supplier or work in a managed services provider or channel organisation.

Open to any individual working within a data centre environment in EMEA or for a supplier of data centre services (e.g hosting colo supplier, managed services provider or channel organisation, or a datacentre facilities or ICT vendor).
