The 2019 DCS Awards consists of many broad categories, allowing companies to receive recognition for their work in the Data Centre sector.

Assessment

The 2019 DCS Awards feature 26 categories across four groups. The Project awards are open to end use implementations of Datacentre technologies and services before 31st December 2018. The Innovation awards are open to products and solutions that have been available, i.e. shipping in Europe, between 1st January 2018 and 31st December 2018 while the Company and Special awards nominees must have been present in the EMEA market prior to 1st June 2018.

PROJECT AWARDS

New Design/Build Data Centre Project of the Year

Open to any project involving the design and build of a new data centre anywhere in EMEA.

All entries must demonstrate tangible benefits either in terms of cost savings or efficiency gains for the end-user concerned. Projects should have been implemented before 31st December 2018 in EMEA.

•    What was the driving force behind the project – what business or technology challenge needed to be addressed?
•    How did the solution address the challenges and were there any particularly innovative aspects that made it stand out?
•    What major challenges were faced during the project and how were they overcome?
•    What tangible benefits has the organisation seen as a result of the project’s implementation?

Data Centre Energy Efficiency Project of the Year

Open to any data centre project that resulted in significant benefits to the end-user organisation with regard to the energy efficiency of the facilities concerned.

All entries must demonstrate tangible benefits either in terms of cost savings or efficiency gains for the end-user concerned. Projects should have been implemented before 31st December 2018 in EMEA.

Data Centre Consolidation/Upgrade/Refresh Project of the Year

Open to any project involving the consolidation of several data centres or a notable refresh/upgrade project resulting in significant benefits to the end-user organisation concerned.

All entries must demonstrate tangible benefits either in terms of cost savings or efficiency gains for the end-user concerned. Projects should have been implemented before 31st December 2018 in EMEA.

Cloud Project of the Year

Open to any organisation’s implementation of a set of set of private, public or hybrid cloud services to their internal or external customers that results in a significant business benefit.

All entries must demonstrate tangible benefits either in terms of cost savings or efficiency gains for the end-user concerned. Projects should have been implemented before 31st December 2018 in EMEA.

Open to any organisation’s project to migrate to a managed services model for the delivery of one or set of key applications in support of their core business.

All entries must demonstrate tangible benefits either in terms of cost savings or efficiency gains for the end-user concerned. Projects should have been implemented before 31st December 2018 in EMEA.

Open to any organisation’s project designed to ensure GDPR compliance with specific focus on minimising the impact of day-to-day operations and customer services.

All entries must demonstrate tangible benefits either in terms of cost savings or efficiency gains for the end-user concerned. Projects should have been implemented before 31st December 2018 in EMEA.

Open to any products that are designed to deliver efficient and cost-effective power solutions to end users and/or data centre operators.

All products/solutions entered must have been shipping in EMEA between 1st January and 31st December 2018.

Open to any products that are designed to deliver comprehensive automation (IOT, AI etc.) or Data Centre Management (DCIM) solutions (i.e. the building and its total contents) to end users and/or data centre operators.

All products/solutions entered must have been shipping in EMEA between 1st January and 31st December 2017.

Open to any datacentre or cloud-based IT storage hardware and/or software products that deliver specific data centre focussed storage solutions to end-users.

All products/solutions entered must have been shipping in EMEA between 1st January and 31st December 2018.

All entrants must have been present in the EMEA markets prior to 1st June 2018.

Open to any commercial organisation selling and/or supporting DC Cloud products and/or services in the EMEA market.

Excellence in Data Centre Services Award

Open to any IT vendor or reseller/business partner delivering end-user customer service in the UK or EMEA data centre markets.  Entries must be accompanied by a minimum of THREE customer testimonials (in English) attesting to the high level of customer service delivered that sets the entrant apart from their competition.

All entrants must have been present in the EMEA markets prior to 1st June 2018.

Data Centre Manager of the Year

Open to any individual responsible for the management of a single or multiple data centres in the EMA region – individuals may be employed by an end-user, a hosting / colocation supplier or work in a managed services provider or channel organisation.

Open to individuals employed in the EMEA region prior to 31st December 2018.

Data Centre Engineer of the Year

Open to any individual working within a data centre environment in EMEA or for a supplier of data centre services (e.g. hosting colocation supplier, managed services provider or channel organisation, or a datacentre facilities or ICT vendor).

Open to individuals employed in the EMEA region prior to 31st December 2018.
